SEA Prime: ribbon-cutting for the new Business&General Aviation Terminal in Malpensa

Milano Malpensa, July 23rd, 2019 – the new Business&General Aviation Terminal of Milano Malpensa airport has officially opened Milano Prime. Mr. Armando Brunini, CEO of SEA, Ms. Patrizia Savi, president of SEA Prime, and Ms. Chiara Dorigotti, CEO of SEA Prime were at the ribbon-cutting.

The new Terminal, open 24/7, covers an area of 1,400 square metresin a specific spot between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, including a 50,000 square metresapron and a 5,000 square metreshangar for the newest executive jets. SEA Prime, a company of the SEA Group, offers a complete setting to the Business&General Aviation passengers and executives who stay or transit through Milan and Lombardia, considered to be one of the most attractive destinations and internationally strongly requested.

Not only is Milano Prime present at Linate Airport, which privileges a distance of approximately 7 kilometres far from the city centre, it will also be present at Malpensa airport, considered to be the gateway to Milan, Lombardia, the neighbouring regions, and the main tourist itineraries.

The opening of the new general aviation airport at Malpensa, including infrastructures and dedicated services, will allow SEA Prime to develop market and territory potential, meeting the increasing requests of the First or Business Class passengers when transiting through Malpensa and using helicopters or private jets to reach their destinations in Italy and in Europe.

The Terminal was developed and implemented taking into account the needs of the customers and the market demand. The project is signed by the international architecture firm OneWorks and built by Di Vincenzo, the company winning bidder for the construction of the Terminal.

The result is a multifaceted structure recognizable from any angle. A series of transparent niches made of glass slips in with the compactness of the external surface allowing to view the internal spaces from outside. The mirror effect of the lounges creates a chromatic contrast with the external covering to give more light to the entrances where the passengers are greeted.

The interior of the structure is enriched with exclusive spaces characterized by precious finishes. It provides five lounges to greet the passengers and the crew. The walls of the lobby are lined with trapezoidal shaped blades of variable sizes made of white Corian. The materials have been selected to increase the natural brightness of the spaces conveying more comfort and welcoming. The passengers can access the control area directly from the lobby and reach their aircraft through security filters. Every passenger of Milano Prime at Malpensa, as well as in Linate, will be able to enjoy luxury services, such as meeting rooms, concierge and limousine services designed to offer their guests total relax and comfort.

“With the opening of the new Terminal, Milano Prime is ready to welcome business passengers through the two entrances leading to the city and territory – Linate and Malpensa – equipped with excellent services. In such way Milano reinforces its leadership in Italy and ranking fifth city in Europe for its volume traffic”, stated Ms. Chiara Dorigotti, CEO of SEA Prime.

The opening of Milano Prime at Malpensa precedes the closure of Linate airport scheduled from July 27th to October 27th: this consents the general aviation traffic to be accommodated in the new Terminal at Malpensa during the important fashion and sports events planned for the autumn, estimating an average of 50 movements in a day during the trimester.

SEA Prime ended 2018 with an annual revenue of 11,4 million Euros and 26 thousand general aircraft movements (+2.5% on an annual basis), ranking first in Italy and fifth in Europe for traffic volume.
